Drivers file a lawsuit against algorithmic decisions in Amsterdam
Uber drivers from Portugal and the United Kingdom sued Uber’s automated decisions related to fraudulent activities and deactivation of their accounts before the District Court of Amsterdam. The drivers alleged that they were dismissed after Uber said its systems had detected fraudulent activity on their part. The drivers denied they had engaged in fraudulent activities and claimed that Uber never provided drivers access to any of the purported evidence nor an opportunity to challenge the automated decision to terminate their contract.
