Egypt and Algeria to enhance connectivity with two new submarine cables
According to Amr Talaat, Egypt’s minister of communication and information technology, two new submarine cables that would connect Egypt and Alegria will be operational by 2025.
Egypt and Algeria are planning to install two new submarine cables to link both countries. The cables will be operational by 2025 and will bring the total number of submarine cables linking the two countries to four. The announcement was made by Minister of Communication and Information Technology Amr Talaat on June 19th during a meeting with the Algerian Minister of Post and Telecommunications Karim Bibi Triki. During the meeting, the two ministers discussed ways of boosting communications and information technology cooperation. Triki praised Egyptian efforts to develop the infrastructure of telecommunications networks in Egypt and expressed hopes to set features for joint cooperation in the field of communications and information technology.
