End of the period for public comment on the renewal of the NET Registry Agreement
The proposed renewal agreement for the .NET Registry Agreement is based on the current .NET RA and will implement new commitments related to combating DNS security threats
The 25 May will be the last day for the Public Comment on the proposed agreement for renewal of the ICANN’s 2017 .NET Registry Agreement. This agreement is set to expire on 30 June 2023
The proposed renewal agreement for the .NET Registry Agreement (.NET Renewal RA) is based on the current .NET RA and will implement new additions from the ICANNs 2023 Global Amendment to the Base gTLD Registry Agreement. It will also contain the commitments related to combating DNS security threats.
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has observed public comments concerning Verisign’s Registry-Registrar Agreement (RRA) contained in Appendix 8. ICANN highlighted concerns regarding sections 2.7(b)(i) and 2.7(b)(ii)(5), which relate to Verisign’s obligations to comply with local laws and processes in the jurisdictions in which they offer services.
