European Commission seeks input on DSA Transparency Database for content moderation
The consultation is open for feedback from different stakeholders until 17 July, focusing on the implementation and access to the database.
The European Commission has introduced a public consultation for the Digital Services Act (DSA) Transparency Database. Under Article 24(5) of the DSA, the Commission must create a public database where platforms will be required to share their reasons for removing information and other content moderation decisions. They will be able to submit their statements in real time, making them public and providing insights into the fight against illegal content online.
The consultation seeks input on how to implement this requirement, including what information should be collected and how to access the database. Online platform providers, civil society organisations, researchers, and others are encouraged to provide feedback until 17 July.
