Facebook launches new Privacy Checkup tool
At the CES conference in Las Vegas, Facebook launched its new Privacy Checkup tool, which was first created in 2014. Rolling out to users globally, this new tool includes a ‘Who Can See What You Share’ feature allowing users to review who can see their profile information, including phone number, email address, and posts. Privacy Checkup can be accessed by a user by clicking the question mark icon on Facebook’s desktop, then selecting Privacy Checkup. According to CNET, though being the first significant update to Facebook’s Privacy Checkup tool, it does not ‘address the core issues lawmakers have had with the social network’.
