Finland issues cybersecurity label for IoT devices
The Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom publishes a cybersecurity label. The label ensures consumers that their smart devices have basic information security features. The label will be awarded to smart devices if they meet the certification criteria, which are based on EN 303 645 (which is based on ESTI standard 103 645). With the label, Traficom aims to raise consumer awareness of the safe use of connected devices. The initiative to develop a cybersecurity label is the result of a private-public partnership between the National Cyber Security Centre Finland (NCSC-FI) at Traficom and the following companies: Cozify Oy, DNA Plc and Polar Electro Oy. Information about the labeled products can be found on the website https://tietoturvamerkki.fi/. The website details all products that have been awarded the cybersecurity label and publishes information about the label. In addition, the website provides information to businesses on how they can apply for the label.
