Finland’s first quantum computer in the making
The VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland has launched a project to acquire Finland’s first quantum computer. The project, to be carried out as an innovation partnership that VTT will open for international tender, is aimed to create an ecosystem for the development and application of quantum technology in Finland, in collaboration with companies and universities. Estimated at approximately EUR 20-25 million, the project will be implemented in three phases. In the first phase, the researchers aim to develop a minimum five-qubit quantum computer. The overall goal of the project is to place VTT and Finland among the world leaders in quantum technology.
