France reaffirms support for Vietnam’s digital transformation

France has reaffirmed its support for Vietnam’s digital transformation, particularly in public administration. This commitment was emphasised by the French Minister of Transformation and Public Service, Stanislas Guérini, who, in a post on X, highlighted digital transformation as a key area of cooperation between the two countries.

Previously, France collaborated with Vietnam on a project worth 2.17 million USD involving over 50 French experts. This collaboration led to establishing the National Public Service Portal in 2019, a significant milestone in Vietnam’s digitalisation of public administration. Through the cooperation programme on the modernisation of administration and digital transformation, Vietnam has successfully digitised 80% of its public services, enabling accessible online applications for citizens and businesses.

France’s future commitments to Vietnam include expanding databases, enhancing data sharing among agencies, streamlining administrative procedures, developing talent, and strengthening female leadership in Vietnam. The two countries have also promised to bolster cooperation in digital transformation, e-government, public service reform, and digital archives.

These efforts are part of a broader context of strengthening bilateral ties between France and Vietnam as the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic ties and the 10th anniversary of their strategic partnership.
