The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) released a consultation on the business practices of cloud computing providers regarding the competitive dynamics, security risks related, and the impact on particular industries such as healthcare, finance, transportation, e-commerce, and defence.
The main topics FTC is seeking information on are:
• the ability of cloud customers to negotiate their contracts;
• the power of cloud providers to provide secure storage for customer data;
• the types of products or services cloud providers offer related to AI; and
• the comprehensiveness of the identification and notification by cloud providers of security risks.
The consultation is open until 22 May 2023.
