GAO asked to assess whether Root Zone File is USG property
A report by the US Government Accountability Office (published in August) has provided a structured framework to help NTIA evaluate the transition proposal against the core goals defined in its March 2014 announcement. Several Congressmen and Senators have now asked the GAO to assess whether the Root Zone File is property of the US Government and whether the transition represents a ‘transfer of US government property to a private entity’, subject to congressional approval.
