Internet undersea cables carry 95% of international Internet traffic and are ‘a global business worth more than $10 trillion a day’. According to a New York Times article, Internet undersea cables have come into focus of Russian submarines and spy ships. This could mark a new turn in geo-political and military tensions, focusing of the Internet cables as part of the global critical infrastructure.
