Ghana sets up first child protection digital lab in sub-Saharan Africa
Ghana has set up the first child protection digital forensic laboratory in sub-Saharan Africa. The lab, developed in partnership with the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), is expected to strengthen investigation efforts of Ghanian authorities against criminal acts and violence against children on the Internet. Through the platform, the authorities also intend to monitor cases of child trafficking and increase co-operation with, and access to, Interpol’s International Child Sexual Exploitation (ICSE) image and video database.
