Global Partnership on AI launched
Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Slovenia, the UK, the USA, and the EU have announced the creation of the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI). An international and multistakeholder initiative dedicated to guiding ‘the responsible development and use of AI, grounded in human rights, inclusion, diversity, innovation, and economic growth’. GPAI will bring together experts from various stakeholder groups (industry, civil society, governments, and academia) in the framework of four working groups on (a) responsible AI; (b) data governance; (c) the future of work; (d) innovation and commercialisation. A GPAI Secretariat will be established at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris. The partnership will also be supported by two Centres of Expertise, in Montreal and Paris.
