Google now allows passwordless sign-in across all accounts with passkeys
Google is rolling out support for passkeys across all its services and platforms. Passkeys provide a more secure and convenient alternative to passwords, which are often vulnerable to data breaches and phishing attacks.
Google is introducing support for passkeys, a new authentication method that offers a safer and more convenient alternative to passwords. With passkeys, users can sign in to their Google accounts without typing in a password or using 2-Step Verification. Instead, passkeys are linked to the user’s device and can be unlocked locally using a PIN or biometrics like fingerprints or facial recognition.
By eliminating the need for users to remember and manage passwords, passkeys provide a more user-friendly experience. Moreover, they significantly reduce the risk of data breaches and thwart phishing attacks, making them a highly secure authentication option.
