Google tests solar-powered drones to deliver 5G Internet
In a project codenamed SkyBender, Google is testing solar-powered drones that are meant to transmit 5G Internet. Ultimately, Google aims to develop ‘thousands of high altitude ‘self-flying aircraft’ delivering Internet access around the world‘. The project is part of the Google Access division, which also encompasses Project Loon – the project aiming at delivering Internet through unpowered balloons in the stratosphere.
