The High-level Panel on Digital Cooperation report to be discussed at IGF 2019
The ‘The Age of Digital Interdependence’ report, released in July 2019 by the High-Level Panel on Digital Cooperation will be discussed at the 14th Internet Governance Forum (IGF) held in Berlin, Germany. The main session dedicated to ‘Internet Governance and Digital Cooperation’ will address the five recommendations that the panel made with regard to issues such as inclusive digital economy and society, human and institutional capacity, human rights and human agency, trust, security and stability, and global digital co-operation. Much attention is expected to be given to the three models of global digital co-operation put forward by the panel: (a) the Internet Governance Forum Plus (IGF +).(b) the Distributed Co-Governance Architecture (COGOV). (c) the Digital Commons Architecture. The three models were proposed to provide ‘tangible outcomes’ and the active engagement of all stakeholders.
The 14th UN IGF will be held between 25-29 November 2019.
