High tech tools to assist access to Internet for persons with disabilities
High tech tools to assist access to the Internet for persons with disabilities are a focus for government under the Caribbean Community (Caricom) Trade and Competitiveness Project (CTCP) which is aimed at contributing to the deepening of the regional integration process. Emphasis on resources for persons with visual disabilities was part of a workshop organised by the University of the West Indies Centre for Disability Studies, fostering dialogue on different issues relating to persons with disabilities, including the use of technology as a tool for transformation and empowerment. Assistive software for persons with visual disabilities will be available through the Jamaica Council for Persons with Disabilities (JCPD).
