India plans to continue deploying IoT devices to monitor water systems
India’s Ministry of water (Ministry of Jal Shakti) announced plans to continue deploying IoT devices to monitor rural drinking water supply systems. The Ministry already began collaborating with Tata Community Initiatives Trust (TCIT) in deploying IoT sensors as part of the pilot phase in September 2020 in five states. The IoT sensors enabled water supply monitoring and real-time visibility to State water supply/ Public Health Engineering Department officials and citizens regarding the water supply changes. Following the pilot’s success, other states are also planning to use IoT-based remote monitoring systems for water supply.
