Indonesian Minister highlights digital literacy for parents and children
Indonesian Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection emphasised the importance of digital literacy for parents in the age of technology, highlighting potential drawbacks and gender- and internet-based abuse.
At the Jelajah Sapa event on 16 July at Kebon Dalem Nature School, Bintang Puspayoga, the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection emphasised the significance of digital literacy for parents in the age of digital technology. The Minister stressed the potential drawbacks of technology, particularly in the age of digital communications, and cited horrifying instances of gender- and internet-based abuse.
The 2023 National Children’s Day (HAN) event, which will take place in Semarang and finish on 23 July 2023, was announced by Semarang Mayor Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu. In cooperation with Minister, they emphasised the need for parents to be proficient in technology to help their children in the world of the internet.
The event emphasised the need to help kids to avoid harmful content, as well as the significance of social media in exposing and resolving cases of violence against women and children and empowering victims to seek justice and punish offenders. Because people no longer view violence as shameful, the iceberg phenomenon linked to the widespread use of social media has commended individuals who testify and publish their experiences.
