Iran internet services disrupted amid weeklong water-shortage protests
According to a news report, Iran’s internet has seen major disruptions amid protests over water-shortage that has lasted over a week in the country and has seen three people killed. Netblocks, the web-monitoring organization, has confirmed the outages through their live network data and have attributed part of the disruptions to ‘state information controls or targeted Internet shutdowns’, according to the report. The effects of the action by the Iranian authorities, according to the report is that the public’s ability to express political discontent or communicate with the outside world will be limited.
