Jordan issues a draft national cybersecurity framework
The framework aims to safeguard the public and private sectors’ information systems from cyber threats.
Jordan’s National Cybersecurity Center (NCSC) has issued a draft national cybersecurity framework. A spokesperson of NCSC, Bassam Maharmeh, shared that the draft framework aims to safeguard the public and private sectors’ information systems from cyber threats and keep pace with international practices. The framework will mitigate the impact ‘resulting from the realisation of various cyber risks through the development of technical, human and administrative capabilities in institutions.’
The proposed framework, Maharmeh explained, entails procedures, controls, mechanisms, and standards that organisations must adopt and implement. The framework proposes to enforce mandatory standards with an initial grace period initially.
