Latvia to release contact-tracing app based on Apple-Google software
Latvia is reported to become one of the first nations to roll out a mobile application using the exposure notification software developed by Apple and Google. The contact-tracing app, called Apturi COVID, will be available to Latvian citizens for voluntary use. A spokesperson for the Latvian Mobile Telephone (LMT) confirmed that the company is working on launching the app in the week of 25 May. The app will store encrypted data of contacts made within a distance of 2 metres, and automatically delete the data after 14 days.
