LinkedIn introduces new features to detect fake accounts
LinkedIn has introduced new features to help users detect fake profiles. The new features can determine the authenticity of the profiles by checking the date of their creation and whether fake pictures have been used, among other things.
In its official blog post, LinkedIn announced the inclusion of new features on the platform that would detect fake profiles. The platform added a new ‘About this profile’ feature, showing the date of the profile’s creation, its last update, and whether the profile has verified contact information. As well, considering that certain fake accounts have been using AI-generated pictures, the platform now has a deep-learning model that uses technology to detect fake photo accounts. Finally, the platform has added a warning to some messages that could affect user security.
