Mastercard terminates services with Pornhub over allegations of child sexual abuse content
Following accusations on Pornhub, world’s largest pornography video platform, hosting child sexual abuse content, Mastercard has terminated services with the online portal and Visa has temporarily put a hold on card payments. Pornhub has been accused of monetising on ‘child rapes, revenge pornography, spycam videos of women showering, racist and misogynist content, and footage of women being asphyxiated in plastic bags,’ by a New York Times report, that also said that the platform was ‘infested’ with sexual abuse content. The report claimed that the portal did not have any control over the content uploaded that involves minors.
