Morocco holds second place in Africa on digital transformation
According to a study conducted by Morocco’s National Center for Scientific and Technical Research (CNRST), Morocco holds second place in Africa in terms of digital transformation. In a study titled ‘Scientific Production Relative to Digital Transformation: Scopus and WOS (2015-2020)’, the CNRST finds that Morocco also performs well among the countries from the Arab-speaking world where it ranks third behind the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia. The document acknowledges that Morocco has been successful in deploying digital technologies into its economy, including progress in the area of engineering, telecommunications and business. Morocco is also the country to host Africa’s most powerful supercomputer which has the potential to create a generation of computational scientists and digital entrepreneurs.
