OECD report pleads for a new social compact
For the occasion of the third Internet-related Ministerial Meeting of the OECD, the Global Commission on Internet Governance published a 140-page report titled One Internet. The report identifies three future scenarios for the Internet (a broken cyberspace, unequal gains, and unprecedented progress), claiming that the Internet’s future ultimately depends on a ‘new social compact’, which would ensure ‘that the Internet continues on track to become more accessible, inclusive, secure and trustworthy.’
