OEWG 2021-2025 held its organisational session
The OEWG 2021-2025 held its organisational session 1-2 June in New York, USA and online. The session was convened to agree on organisational arrangements connected with the group. The delegates elected the chair of the working group. Ambassador Burhan Gafoor, Permanent Representative of Singapore to the UN, was elected by acclaim. The delegates adopted the provisional agenda, which will apply to all sessions of the group. The first substantive session of the group has been tentatively scheduled for 13-17 December 2021, subject to approval from the Committee of Conferences. The floor was then opened for general statements by delegations on procedural issues related to the organisation of work.
