Online child sexual abuse not given police priority reveals Strategic review of Police Scotland
The HM Inspectorate of Constabulary in Scotland (HMIC ) has released the ” Strategic review of Police Scotland’s response to online child sexual abuse“. The findings of the review include: online child sexual abuse has not been given sufficient prioritisation by Scotland Police, risk of online child sexual abuse in the form of abuse and exploitation gets lost within broader crime classifications, lack of an overall strategic governance of the different departments of the law enforcement responsible for delivering different aspects of the response to online child sexual abuse. Ten recommendations have been shared based on the findings.
