Ontario launches consultation on data protection framework
The Ontario government in Canada has announced the launch of consultations to improve the province’s privacy protection laws. Through an online survey, written submissions and web conferences, the government of Ontario intends to gather contributions to create a legislative framework for privacy in the province’s private sector, in view to Increase transparency for individuals, enhance consent provisions allowing individuals to revoke consent at any time and introduce a right for individuals to request information related to them be deleted.
