Philipines studying fintech for financial inclusion
Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in partnership with ING Bank, N.V. and the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) has launched the Fintech for Impact partnership program in Makati City. Speaking at the launch, BSP Center for Learning and Inclusion Advocacy Managing Director, Pia Bernadette Roman-Tayag noted that while the country had advanced with use of mobile technology, many Filipinos were still not part of formal financial systems. She therefore challenged the industry to seek solutions with real impact on people’s lives.
