Philippines launched a cybersecurity project to protect government networks
The Philippines Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) launched the Cybersecurity Management System Project in January 2019. It is a collaborative platform for the DICT and the private sector to protect government agencies from cybersecurity threats, attacks, and provide information sharing for other issues. Currently, only 10 government agencies are covered by the project. The DICT hopes to include 40 more government agencies by the end of the year. Before becoming a part of the project, an agency should fulfill several criteria on network and infrastructure capabilities and go through DICT’s preparedness test.
