Poly Network calls its attacker white hacker

Poly Network, a decentralised finances (DeFi) platform,  identified the hacker(s) that hacked its smart contracts as a ‘white hacker.’ In a series of exchanges between the two sides, Poly Network assured that the hacker(s) will not be held legally accountable for the cyber attack and offered the equivalent of US$500,000 as a bounty reward if the hacker(s) returned the funds in full.

The hacker(s), who returned almost half the funds on 11 August, wrote they will provide the key for the remaining funds ‘when everyone is ready’.
