Rwanda moves immigration services online amid lockdown
Rwanda’s Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration (DGIE) has moved its services online in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Applications for passports, visa and permits, refugee travel documents, laissez passer documents, and related correspondences will be done online. Those requiring physical services will be required to consult with immigration officers.
The announcement follows a two-week lockdown in Kigali to contain a new outbreak of the coronavirus.
