RwandAir becomes first Africa to pilot digital health passport
RwandAir will become the first African airline to pilot IATA Travel Pass, a digital health passport developed by the International Air Transportation Association (IATA) and currently being trialed across the world. The airline will begin a three-week trial in April for passengers traveling between Kigali, Rwanda and Nairobi, Kenya. The IATA Travel Pass is designed to be incorporated into airlines’ own apps, on which travelers can easily and securely verify that they meet COVID-19 test or vaccine travel requirements.
