Scottish Police report growth in online child abuse during COVID-19
Scottish Police Authority’s “The Policing Performance Report Q1 2020” indicates that the there has been an increase in online child abuse and internet grooming during the COVID-19 lockdown. This was attributed to children spending more time online and due to social isolation. To protect children online during the lockdown, in April 2020, Police Scotland launched the #GetHelporGetCaught campaign which is targeted at sexual predators who abuse and groom children online.
