Siemens and Grundfos kick off a new cooperation to address global water challenges and save energy
Siemens and Grundfos signed a new digital partnership aimed at supporting global sustainability through digital solutions that contribute to the sustainable development goals (SDGs), namely SDG 6 (Clean water and sanitation) and SDG 13 (Climate action). This cooperation hinges on complementary products and solutions provided by both companies in three main areas: water and wastewater applications, industrial automation, and building technology. Grundfos CEO Mads Nipper highlighted that Siemens and Grundfos ‘purpose is to pioneer solutions that contribute to solving the world’s water and climate challenges. To live up to that purpose, [they] are on a major digital transformation journey to supplement [their] pump solutions business by also becoming a digital solution and service provider. Ten percent of all electric energy in the world is used by pumps. Through this partnership [Siemens and Grundfos] can provide intelligent, efficient solutions for reducing energy consumption, making a substantial difference when it comes to combatting climate change.’
