Sign up for ‘Privacy Shield’ Framework now
Starting 1 August 2016, companies from United States can sign up for the Privacy Shield Framework that governs the data transfer of European Union citizens to U.S. companies’ servers. The U.S. Department of Justice will be in charge of evaluating applications and monitoring companies for compliance. The European Commission published a ‘Guide to the U.S.-EU Privacy Shield’ for EU citizens on how to file complaints against U.S. companies handling their data but do not comply with the Privacy Shield rules. Information for understanding the Framework and applying for certifications can be found at the dedicated website.
