Sri Lanka to sign MoU with India for Unitary Digital ID project
Sri Lanka’s Cabinet has approved a memorandum of understanding with India that will see India give Sri Lanka a grant for a unitary digital ID project. This follows bilateral talks between the President and the Prime Minister of India in December 2019 where the Government of India agreed to support Unitary Digital Identity project. The project will involve biometric identification and verification of individuals.
