Surge in child sexual abuse videos

A report published by the US National Center for Missing and Exploited Children indicate that the number of reported images of child sexual abuse material circulated in online platforms has grown by more that 50% since last year. Nearly 70 million of the child sexual abuse materials reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children by technology companies, 40 million were videos. Out of the 164 companies who have submitted reports, Facebook reported nearly 60 million photos and videos, which was more than 85% of the total. 

However, critics argue that the figures do not provide the complete picture due to inconsistent and uneven practices followed by the industry.
