Thailand works on IoT regulation
According to reports, the The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission of Thailand (NBTC) will publish the first two drafts dealing with regulating Internet of things (IoT) devices by the end of the year. There are five main IoT topics considered by the regulator: (a) numbering and identification; (b) spectrum and technical standards; (c) permissions related to radio communications and competition; (d) security and privacy; (e) data arrangement structure and data interoperability. The NBTC has appointed five sub-committees to work with relevant parties in order to define proper regulatory rules for each of these categories. It is still unclear what the topics of the first two drafts will be.
