TikTok ban halted by second court order
In a second ruling against the immediate ban of the TikTok app in the USA, the Washington District Judge Carl Nichols found that ‘Trump overstepped his authority in using his emergency economic powers to try to effectively put the wildly popular app out of business’, according to NPR. According to the judge, Trump officials’ ‘failed to adequately consider an obvious and reasonable alternative before banning TikTok’ making the ban of TikTok app ‘arbitrary and capricious’.
