TikTok divestiture deadline moved to 4 December
According to a new court filing, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the US (CFIUS) has granted an additional seven-day extension to ByteDance until 4 December 2020 to divest from TikTok.
The extension of the deadline is aimed to accommodate a revised submission of ByteDance to the US Department of Commerce that addresses national security issues as part of negotiations with Walmart Inc and Oracle Corp to divest TikTok’s US assets into a new entity.
