Tjub, a new social media platforms coming out of the Netherlands promises a fix to the glitches of existing legacy platforms.
Amidst the furore aimed at the operators of social media platforms like Facebook, X and TikTok, Tjub, a new social media platform, has emerged out of the Netherlands with the promise to fix many of the glitches legacy platforms have long struggled with. Tjub has a mission to ‘create a safe, inclusive and enjoyable online space for everyone, while simultaneously reshaping the norms of social media’ platforms through core values of diversity, inclusion and privacy.
In the realm of diversity and inclusion, the platform seeks to not only amplify the voices of the underrepresented, including women, people of colour, the disabled and persons of the LGBTQ+ community, but it has set a goal to have at least 40% women in its employ.
Why does it matter?
Tjub has also informed of a commitment to privacy and an intolerance for hate speech. With next-generation content moderation tools, the platform promises to strictly enforce all its rules.
