The UK government and semiconductor industry leaders have formed the Semiconductor Advisory Panel to drive the growth and development of the domestic semiconductor sector. The panel, co-chaired by Technology Minister Paul Scully and industry veteran Dr. Jalal Bagherli, aims to strengthen the industry, ensure a steady supply of chips, and safeguard national security interests.
Companies such as Arm and IQE are part of the panel, which will advise the government on strategies for nurturing skills, enhancing access to finance, and promoting international collaboration.
Additionally, the government has launched a semiconductor start-up incubator, run by Silicon Catalyst, to support early-stage semiconductor companies.
