UK Information Commissioner’s Office publishes guidance on AI and data protection
The UK Information Commissioner’s Office has published a Guidance on AI and data protection dedicated to professionals with a compliance focus (e.g. data protection officers, general counsels, risk managers, senior management) and technology specialists (e.g. machine learning experts, data scientists, software developers and engineers, cybersecurity and IT risk managers). The document offers guidance on how to assess the risks to rights and freedoms that AI can prose from a data protection perspective and on measures that can be taken to mitigate such risks. Aspects covered in the guidance include accountability and governance in AI; fair, lawful, and transparent processing of data; data minimisation and security; and compliance with individual rights.
