The UK introduced its new data protection reform bill to relax certain aspects of the country’s post-Brexit data protection regime. The bill aims to reconfigure the office of the Information Commissioner and will significantly reduce requirements on businesses when it comes to record-keeping, limiting obligations to categories of high-risk data only. Changes have also been included to make it easier for data to be reused for scientific research and to measure ‘legitimate interests’.
