UN Cybercrime Ad Hoc committee concludes its first meeting of the organizational session
The UN Ad Hoc Committee to elaborate a comprehensive international convention on countering the misuse of information and communications technologies for criminal purposes (Cybercrime Ad Hoc Committee) has conducted the first meeting of the organizational session on 10-12 May 2021.
Established by the UN GA Resolution 74/247 the aim of the open-ended Cybercrime Ad Hoc Committee as a group of intergovernmental committee of experts and representatives of all regions, is to elaborate a comprehensive international convention on countering the use of information and communications technologies for criminal purposes. The Cybercrime Ad Hoc Committee is tasked to take into full consideration existing international instruments and efforts at the national, regional and international levels and the work and outcomes of the open-ended intergovernmental Expert Group to Conduct a Comprehensive Study on Cybercrime.
