UN Group of Friends for Digital Cooperation launched by five member states
This initiative aims to promote international collaboration in the digital sector and advocate for sustainable growth in the electronic economy, fostering global prosperity and social inclusion.
Five member states of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Cyprus, Pakistan, and Rwanda, have jointly launched the ‘UN Group of Friends for Digital Cooperation‘ during the 78th UN Annual General Assembly meeting at the UN headquarters in New York.
This group aims to facilitate international collaboration in the digital realm and promote sustainable growth in the electronic economy to foster prosperity and social inclusion worldwide.
The DCO strongly supports this initiative, emphasizing its commitment to uniting member states to advance a sustainable and inclusive digital economy. Dima Al-Yahya, the secretary-general of the DCO, explained that establishing the UN Group of Friends for Digital Cooperation aims to contribute to aligning the UN’s sustainable development goals for 2030 through international collaboration.
