US companies can work with Huawei on standards only
US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross announced an exception for US companies that need to work with Huawei that would not require them getting an export license. Companies are now allowed to work with Huawei provided the purpose of sharing the technology is for the development of standards only. Secretary Ross stated the United States maintains its commitment to leading global innovation while protecting their security, foreign policy interests and advocating for US technology to become international standards.
