US Congress to introduce bill for negotiations between small news publishers and big platforms
According to Representative Ken Buck on the House Judiciary Committee’s antitrust panel, a bipartisan congressional group plans to introduce a bill in coming weeks to make it easier for smaller news organisations to negotiate with Big Tech platforms.
This comes after Australia’s House of Representatives passed the News Media Bargaining Code on 17 February, which if approved by the Senate would make Facebook and Google pay Australian media companies for using their content.
